Veg Puff

Veg Puff or Baked Samosa is all time my favourite appetizer. One of the famous bakery snack from India. Readymade puff sheets are available in market or we can make it at home also. So if we use readymade one, then it is very easy and quick too. Here I am sharing recipe with readymade sheets. It goes well with coriander chutney and tomato sauce.

INGREDIENTS

 For Stuffing :

  • Potatoes – 4
  • Boiled Peas – 1/2 cup
  • Onion – 1 big
  • Green chilly – 2
  • Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp
  • Fennel seeds – 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander seeds – 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
  • Coriander powder – 1 tsp
  • Red chilly powder – 1 tsp
  • Garam Masala – 1/2 tsp
  • Amchur/Dry Mango powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Salt – Add to taste
  • Coriander leaves
  • Oil – 2 tbls

For pasting :

  • Water – 2 tsp

RECIPE

  1. Boil, peel and mash potatoes. Onion should be thinly sliced.
  2. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard, cumin, fennel and coriander seeds.Then add green chilli, peas, onion.Stir until onion is golden brown. Then add mashed potatoes and all the listed spices. Stir well and after 5 mins switch off the flame.IMG_20171112_123552
  3. Meanwhile pre-heat oven at 180°C for 15 mins .And get ready with the baking tray by placing butter paper on it.
  4. Take puff sheet, cut it evenly.IMG_20171112_123543
  5. Pour potato filling on each piece and paste the end properly with water.quicksquare_201819222128543Arrange the puffs on baking tray.

  6. Place the tray in the oven and set temperature to 200°C and mode should be fan with grill. Keep checking. In my case it takes around 20-25 mins.
  7. Serve hot with coriander chutney and tomato sauce.Enjoy!!!
